My name is Renate West I have been creating and showing my works of art for many years.

After a three year apprenticeship as a jeweller I studied Art and Design and in later years Art Therapy. I resigned from work in 2000 to devote all my time to painting.

My work is both abstract and representational. I work with acrylic, pastel, charcoal and occasionally with oil. In my abstract work, I explores the subconscious as well as my emotional response to the world around me. Natures colours, shapes and forms are part of my inspiration.

My representational images include life figures, portraits and landscapes among others.

I have exhibited in the UK and Germany and have work in private collections in the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
