My name is Renate West I have been creating and showing my works of art for many years.

After school I completed a three-year apprenticeship as a jeweller and a two-year study in Art and Design. In my late thirties I studied Art Therapy in London. In 1996 I resigned from that work to devote all my time to painting.

My work is both abstract and representational. I work with pastels, acrylics and charcoal. In my abstract paintings I explore the subconscious and my emotional response to the world around me. I am inspired by nature’s colours, shapes and forms.

My representational work includes life figures, landscapes and buildings.
